**You will find your assigned article critique the quantitative study, An investigation
into the health-promoting lifestyle practices of RNs  by Thacker,
Stavarski, Brancato, Flay &Greenawald.   You will use the same article for both Part 1 & 2 of the assignment.

Part 1 – will include a critique of the Title, Abstract, Problem statement, Research question, Literature review and Conceptual framework/Conceptual underpinnings. 3-5 pages in length. As you critique each section of the study, answer the questions in the Critique tool making sure that you “bring the study” into your discussion. For example: if you critique that there is a good match between the research problem and the research tradition chosen in the study, explain specifically why that is with examples from the study and provide rationales from your text. If the study you are critiquing is deficient in an area, indicate what the researchers may have done to strengthen this area – include citations from your text or other resources.

Part 2 – Using the SAME study from Part 1, Part 2 critique will include the remaining sections of the study: Protection of participants (ethical issues), research design, sample, data collection/procedure, results, discussion and global issues. 5-7 pages in length. As you critique each section of the study, answer the questions in the Critique tool making sure that you “bring the study” into your discussion. For example: if you critique that there were appropriate procedures used to safeguard the rights of the study participants, give specific examples from the study that demonstrate this and support with rationales from the text. If your study was deficient in this area, include what the researchers may have done to strengthen this area – support your work with rationales from your text or other resource.
